Dear Cavaliers,

East Burke has had a number of principals who are Cavalier graduates. Dr.Anna Moose, who is a member of the Class of 1998, is beginning her second year as principal of EBHS. She previously served as principal at Liberty Middle School and is in her twenty-fourth year as an educator. We have invited Anna to share her perspective on returning to her alma mater and her goals for the school she loves.

The following is a statement from Anna from before the most recent Fat Friday game.

“As Fat Friday approaches, I can’t help but think back on my memories here as a Cavalier. I have had the unique opportunity to be a student at EBHS, a teacher, and now the principal. It is a privilege to see the school from every lens.

“East Burke High School has a rich history in our community of developing students for the future and providing opportunities for college and career. My goal is to continue this vision and ensure that our school continues to provide these opportunities for our students and our community with a continual focus on growth and enrichment. The partnerships within our community and the support we receive from our community and alumni continue to make Cavalier Country a special place to be.

“Last year, I had the pleasure of signing student diplomas from my alma mater and felt incredibly proud to be a piece of the fabric of EBHS. It was truly special to know I played a small part in these students’ lives and to be given that honor!

“I think back to all the teachers who invested their time into helping develop the person I am today, and my goal is to continue that investment in our community and students and give back to a community that gave so much to me!”
